Nothing is a piece of cake, except a piece of cake.
You may not want to admit it, but everything is difficult. Everything requires a series of actions to occur.
Take doctors for example. Something prompts you to see a doctor. You go to see a doctor and they aren’t in that day, or they’re booked up for weeks, so you schedule an appointment. Then comes the waiting, the wondering, the prompt is still there. The appointment finally arrives and you have to wait in a room specifically made for waiting. This can take a minute to a number of hours. You, eventually, get to see the doctor, they throw some terms at you, give you a prescription or arrange for further investigation into the reason of the appointment. Then you wait for results. Then you wait for recovery. Health is a long waiting process.
Let’s examine a simpler action. Walking will do. What does it take to walk? It requires a body stable and agile enough to propel itself in motion. It, also requires gravity, surface, and motivation. There is always a reason, whether we are aware of it or not, that we start to walk. We walk to do something, to get somewhere, to relieve energy, to distract ourselves. It may seem like one of the easiest tasks available to us, but for some, it is impossible, or a great struggle. Water does not walk, windows cannot walk, not even a snake can walk. There are those who have amputations, paralysis, MS, phobias, and other issues that prevent them from walking with ease.
Making decisions about anything can be scary, if you really think about it. The style you get your haircut, to have a family, what to have for dinner, to runaway from your problems, to accept things around you, and even to accept yourself all impact the rest of your life. Those decisions will always be there, ignored or faced. No one can change your mind unless you allow them to. You can even decide to end your life. Maybe those who do are the greatest detectives of us all and are close on the trail of death their whole lives. But, there are those of us who choose to live. Why do we do it? Fear? Happiness? Attachment? Or possibly apathy? We all have to choose what color shoes to buy. We all have to choose whether we want to achieve goals or not.
We all have decisions to make, and although some may seem easy and you don’t think twice about them, remember they could change who you are for the rest of your human existence.
My favorite cake is ice cream cake. I eat it in a certain way. I have to have all three parts at the same time, or i won’t be satisfied with the bite.
