A Lavender Soapbox:
A Few Applications of Life
With weary eyes sitting in the passenger seat, you watch how the streetlight touches the highway. You look at your side and a car is losing speed to yours. As your eyes fall upon the eyes of the driver, there’s a spark of God ever so constant but fleeting in the encounter of your eyes.
Not all relationships are designed or built to last. However, there is genius in each one of them for that all of them will touch the eternal chord within. This eternal chord I speak of will remind you where you come from…only if you are willing to listen and, yes, humble yourself to this very point of being. Some tunes will feel endearing as others might feel touchy. It’s all how you want to see and receive it. If you let it truly unfold as it really is, you will see how it just is a chain of relativity and brings you a spark of Truth especially in how connected we all are on a very subliminal level. More or less, we all are here to lend a helping hand and heal ourselves. For one, being in the flesh is both very vulnerable and protected. It is like a tango of truth and illusion.
You fall on your back ever so softly on a lush bed of meadow filled with Indian Paintbrush and Iris blossoms. There is nothing but gentle laughter coming from the pit of your stomach: the kind of laughter that breaks brick walls without impact. There is not a single inkling of allergy or the blare of Claritin anywhere. You understand that nothing matters except for now. You look at the skies directly and the clouds part ways as if they are beginning to speak to you. You watch them gently form shapes and tell you stories about your past, present, and future. Your past; a reel of film that reminds you of nothing but warmth, corns on the cob by the bay, Grandma’s admiration, bike rides, and laughter with your cousins. Your present; a constant string of awakenings along with moments of splattered pieces of a puzzle and thoughts of harmony, answers, and . Your future; a beautiful, silent canvas emanating promises and dreams.
A stop sign doesn’t tell you anything about spirituality yet we follow it. Of course, we follow it because we are told to do so. However, it will never make us burst with Truth. The deeper we trust the law, the easier we forget what really is. The law isn’t always bad, it just is distracting. It distracts you from our honest Being as a collective entity like a watercolor painting with so many layers making it a masterpiece. You know the feeling of that long, unpleasant static in the silence of waiting for a traffic light to turn green. That IS distracting. The repetitive mundanity of it muddles with the purity of our consciousness IS the polar opposite to the continuous need of chopping wood and carrying water. We do not chop wood and carry water as a part of our living very much anymore but our forefathers did start out doing that. The value of chopping wood and carrying water is still as wildly essential as it has ever been. Many of us have forgotten why and how it is important for basic survival and simplicity to remain in our lives. Chopping wood and carrying water will keep the lake in our mind without a single ripple and that will be important in the sense of being present and ready for anything that is to come.
Adult wiring is not going to help you take on or hone new skills very well. It is rather easy to lock in and no one in their true soul-right wants to do that.
