I’m going to apologize in advance if this post is weak or lame. I feel like garbage and am soooo not motivated. Well, here goes nothing.
“They can’t understand us! Why can’t you grasp that?!”
“I need to get out! Let me out! I don’t want to die! Please!”
“Shut the fuck up already. You’re making this worse for all of us. You know what they do when you…”
“Somebody help me! Please let me out! Let me…”
There is an abrupt sound. Squeeling.
Then, tapping. Echoes.
A hushed whisper “Don’t say a word, you hear me? Don’t you fucking scream.”
There is a hall. A dim light emulating from it. Shadows march along the wall.
There is a figure at the opening. Contour of a monster.
Whimpering scatters around the room like discovered mice.
Suddenly, a bright light. Death? No. The room is blinding. It slowly calms, allows focus.
The monsters are gathered around the one who screams. Sweat punctures the air with its salty fear. The screamer is dripping.
“No. No. No. No. No! No! No! Please! Don’t do this to me! No! Please, just-just let me go! Please! Stop! Oh God, please!”
He is taken down from the line. His binds are tightened and cut deep into his flesh. His screams pierce the monotonous sound of shuffling…feet? No. Not feet. Hooves.
They take him from the room. Darkness falls with the silence his absence brings.
“Shit. Shit they took him! They took him! What are we going to do?! I don’t want to die!”
“For God’s sake shut the fuck up. We need to think! Screaming obviously doesn’t do any good. All it’s done is inflict fear and pain. Now just-just let me think about the situation.”
“How much thinking can you expect us to do when all of the blood is rushing to our heads, or at least whatever isn’t pouring out of our god damn gashes?”
“Please, just stay calm. We need to work together. Okay, so, did anyone get a good look at them before they left?”
“Eh, seemed like animals.”
“Just saw a bunch of hooves, didn’t want to be lookin’ around too much.”
“Seems we can only assume they’re not human and that we are not safe in here. I doubt they won’t come back for another one of us.”
“What should we do? I have a family! I need to get out of here!”
“Alright! Well, anyone with a suggestion feel free to throw them out there because I only know I’m upside down, bleeding, tied up, and that we’ve been stuck in this fucking room for too damn long and I want to get the fuck out of here.”
“We’re all in she same boat here.”
“What if we make them come in here and take a bunch of us down, then we spring an attack on them?”
“We could try biting through the binds?”
“I doubt we could reach the binds on ourselves, but maybe we could try swinging ourselves towards the person next to us?”
There is a chorus of ropes rubbing against themselves. The sound of squeaking, wet shoes on a linoleum floor. Grunts and gasps come from the desperate men.
“It’s no use. I can’t grab the rope in my mouth.”
“Yeah, me neither.”
“Fuck. Can’t get it.”
“Alright, well, we tried. Let’s strategize some more. What are our exits? There seems to be only one hallway out of this room. I would imagine they have a number of guards for this hell hole. Assuming these fucks understand strategy.”
“I just want to go home.”
“I know, believe me, we all do. Just help think of ways to get out of here so we can.”
A loud sound echoes from the hall to the room. A door slams. They know they will never escape.
