I will say this may travel through your eyes like a cold cup of coffee: somewhat refreshing yet strong. I usually do not revise my work heavily. I do the same with my photography. I call it something like “originality” and I am pushing it by calling anything I utter original. That is because even all wonderful, original pieces by amazing artists were imitations of something they saw, felt, smelled, or heard.
If you’re the kind of person that likes to pore over tons of minutiae looking for patterns (and I am) and also the kind of person that likes to apply that analytical mind to social trends (that too) and especially to Batman in particular (of course) then you might have come to the same conclusion that I have: that Batman’s popularity and relevance in mainstream culture swings like a pendulum, in roughly fifteen to twenty-year cycles. And that each time Batman comes back, he comes back bigger and better.
